Nights:Commercial

100% Babe

"HOT PARTY . GORGEOUS GIRLS . TOP GIRL DJ’s spin house, r’n'b, pop" this is what 100% BABE claims to be. For me this night has it's up's and downs, formerly at the roxy, where it was packed out and a go to night, it has slowly faced pressure from other upcoming nights offering competition. I attended the launch night the other week at the Den and thoroughly enjoyed it, if 100% continues to draw more people to it's events it could be a banger. The music policy is great playing a mix or rnb, dance and chart music, entry is £6 before 11pm £8 after WITH a txt, so be sure to txt this number: 07956 514 574 with your name!

Get to the Den before 11pm to take full advantage on 2 4 1 on wine (all colours) and fosters, otherwise it's £4+ for a standard mixer/beer, pretty steep, apparently it's because the Den is a "straight" club with "straight" prices :)

The Den itself is an awesome nightclub with a state of the art sound system to really feel that bass and experience tunes to theres fullest!

From it's legendary Bank holidays to the more recent Pop-up Parties it was choosen as Time Out Magazine's 'CRITIC'S CHOICE'. Not a bad acheivement for any clubnight, well done on that one 100% Babe.

Candy Bar

From the hot pink lights that shone like a beacon on carlisle street to...well...it's new white washed image. I'm not entirely sure getting rid of the pink was a completely good idea, after all it is called the CANDY bar!? I thought it was all in the name, obviously not. Anyway, moving past that I do like the new interior, there seems to be slightly less attitude, but that doesn't include the door staff, they can be, at times, moody to say the least!

This lesbian bar/club is open a whooping 7 days a week, open till 3am every night except sunday and it's slowly resuming it's place as a popular lesbian hangout. On Tuesday the venues switch under the Ku umbrella and candy bar becomes "candy boys" and the girls happily relocate to Ku bar for ruby tuesdays (covered under the "ruby tuesdays" page ;) )

In terms of what crowd this venue draws in, it's a predominantly young-ish crowd, the obvious first port of call for newbies and students alike. If it's great music your after then I'd reccomend some of the other nights dotted around east London, however if your up for no frills and a great night out with your mates then theres no need to make too much of an effort here, nobody else seems to anyway :P

You might be enticed to sign up for "membership"- this will be worth it in the long run, especially if your a late arriver and you want to save money on entry...BUT me and my friends applied over 3 months ago and still nothing yet, so we might have to sign up again. A mess up on candys behalf, but I think I'm willing to let it slide for a venue thats been running for so long with so many loyal girls. Candy do what they do succesfully and I think it's not as easy as what it looks. You can't please everyone! Good luck candy bar with the style overhaul and the new show thats just started on Channel 5 "Candy Bar Girls" (I'll be posting an article on my thoughts on the very first screening)

Ruby Tuesdays

Ruby Tuesdays started up in 2007 and is the go-to place for most lesbians on a tuesday night to hang out and party, depending on where the mood takes you. This night has a predominantly young crowd (18-21), some of which look suspiciously young at times ;) The sound system is noticebly trebly and lacking in bass, however the atmosphere can make up for that as it tends to get pretty packed out. People go there to have a good time and thats what it's all about right!? Prices here are not particularly cheap, especially if you are a student, a simple vodka mixer or corona beer will set you back £4, however they do have deals on shots like apple sourz and the ever popular b52 for a mere £1.50 and the entry is free!. Apparently theres a chocolate fountain, I've never got there for 9pm, so I've yet to see that. Let me know if it's real in the comment section below :)

Music policy is
chart, chart, CHART! So if you enjoy chart music then you'll enjoy this, otherwise drink up (sensibly) and hopefully you'll enjoy it anyway!
